L is for Love

L is for Love

I had run out of my Grunge Paste a little while back, so after seeing lots of recipes on Pinterest, I decided to make my own -

1 tablespoon Gesso
1 tablespoon PVA glue
1/4 cup medicated foot powder!! (got to laugh, it was the only powder we had in the house, going rusty around the base of the container too!)

Mixed it all together and added a little purple paint - voila !

I then used it through my heart stencils - seemed to be the right consistency, will just have to see if it flakes off and how long the rest of it lasts in my sealed container.

Over on The Craft Barn Alphabet Challenge, the

Yeehah!

YEEHAH!!!!!

I can't believe it but my F for Female picture won first prize in The Craft barn's Alphabet Challenge! I'm so thrilled and although I realise that a computer has randomly selected my name, I was still dancing around the room with glee!

FEMALE journal page

Hi there,
Feeling so chuffed, massive pat on the back as I seem to have managed to navigate through my first post AND it worked.
Maybe I won't need to call myself computer illiterate for much longer!
A big thank you to some of the ladies who gave me the confidence to start up this blog - you know who you are from The Craft Barn and ladies who gave me advice on uploading pictures too.

Below is a picture I created using my beautiful neo-color II crayons - just love them, such vibrant colours.

Challenges entered:

 - The Craft Barn Alphabet Challenge - F
 - Crafty Calendar Challenge - Love Is In The Air
 - Natalie and Amy's Challenge - Hearts and Flowers
 - CraftStamper Challenge - Text Me

Bye for now,
Rachel

Starting out

Well hello, this is my first post and I'm a bit nervous as to what to write....
I seem to spend alot of time looking through other peoples blogs, so many beautiful pieces of art to enjoy and learn from, it can really start the ideas flowing for my own pieces.
So far I have kept it really simple and just entered various pictures that I have made onto a local craft shops monthly challenge blog - but I've found it really difficult to upload my pictures, when I haven't got a blog to start with.
So I decided that maybe the way to go forward is to start up my own blog and learn some new computer skills along the way, hopefully.
I'm hoping that it will feel nurturing to feel more part of the crafting community too, plus I've got more chance of winning some free craft stuff......that would be a bonus!

Below is last weeks picture, which I entered onto The Craft Barn Alphabet Challenge...Q for Quince

Hope you likey
