I - Insect
One of those rare pictures that I didn't plan anything beforehand, apart from the idea I was going with a butterfly. It's nice just to go for it - I don't know why I don't do that more often, seeing as with most kinds of mixed media art, there are always plenty of layers and so mistakes are usually easy to cover up!
Mainly used my Neo-colors here and stamped with a little, hexagon and circle Jofy stamp.

Thanks for visiting, Rachel
Great take on the letter I and nice detail with the dictionary pages with more words beginning on I under the letters. Thank you for using our colours this month and entering your page to our November challenge at Rubber Dance ♥
ReplyDeleteLove your butterfly ...all those spots and dots. Great way to depict insect!
ReplyDeleteThat butterfly is beautiful. I was most impressed by the way you created the letters using dictionary words. This is an incredible mixed media entry.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I completely forgot about insects....I had cut out some jewelled ones only the other day too....

ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing! Thanks for playing long with the Craft Stamper Challenge xx
ReplyDeleteLovely bright colours to remind us of summer. A great page.
ReplyDeleteFun and colourful - love all the little details.
ReplyDeleteRachel, I was sure I left you a comment about sewing on paper, but I can't find where I left it.
ReplyDeleteI use an 80/11 needle. It has a very sharp point and lasts forever, or until I break it. I break the needle, usually by doing something silly just like when I'm sewing on fabric. BTW, the "experts" will tell you to change your needle after each project, but I have had the same needle in my machine for about four months, and it is still going strong.
Lovely Mixed Media page! Yes overthinking a page doesn't produce the expected results! Sometimes accidents turn out better than what you had in mind...
ReplyDeleteA fabulous page! Love your bright butterfly and the white doodling. Insect is a great word choice.
